The Instrumental Music Program at Cheltenham Secondary College is a vibrant, engaging and extensive program covering all technical aspects of Classical, Jazz and Popular music, from the beginner through to the advanced student. The curriculum consists of an elaborate collection of resources in music theory, repertoire, performance, composition and the opportunity to record in the studio. 

The several Concert bands, Ensembles, Choir and Solo performers have the opportunity to experience live performances at recitals, concerts, assemblies, lunchtime open mic sessions, as well as community events including music festivals, exchange programs, camps and local school fetes.

The music program consists of:

In the Music Department at Cheltenham Secondary College, we boast extensive expertise in songwriting, recording, production, mixing (both live and in the studio), sound engineering, releasing music, as well as organising and promoting gigs. While our department excels in delivering exceptional instrumental lessons, we aspire to provide a multi-faceted music industry class that cultivates the diverse skills essential in today’s ever-evolving music industry.

Our Songwriting and Production course through the Instrumental Music Program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding and practical experience in various aspects of music creation and promotion.
